Newcastle United announced officially have earned the England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea City.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract duration of five and a half seasons and became the second quarterback who moved to St James Park after Henri Saivet first joined from Girondins Bordeaux.
"I'm happy to be here. I'm happy all the agreements already reached common ground," said Shelvey, Wednesday (13/1).
"He is a player we admire and we are very happy we could bring him here," said Newcastle coach Steve McClaren.
Although not released by the club, Shelvey transfer deal value is estimated at £ 12 million.
